Pastors and ministry leaders are timid about
continually sowing their vision into their congregation.
They often feel that people will quickly tire
of hearing their constant “nagging” about “what
we are called to do.” However, this is
far from the truth.
Actually,
it is almost impossible to overcommunicate your
vision.
The
Bible tells the story quite differently than
most leaders would confess interpretation. Scripture
actually warns us many times about the dangers
of undercommunicating vision and admonishes us
that “without a vision the people cast
off restraint” or lose focus.
Communicating
vision is more than just posting it in the lobby
of your church or slapping a blurb on every letter
you send out. Accurately relaying the vision
God has given you for your ministry must be done
in a carefully purposed manner utilizing every
communication tool available to you. But it is
impossible to communicate it too much.
The
effective communication of vision will cause
your leaders to run with the vision while causing
those whose hearts are not with you to run away.
Both outcomes culminate in the desired result
of focus and productivity for your ministry.
